Coaching staff:
Luxembourg U16 Women’s Team loses to a surprisingly good Swiss Team.
After a good start, the girls from Luxembourg were able to take an early lead (5-0). Their aggressive defense made it difficult to Switzerland to control the game. Even though the team struggled due to many turnovers, the game was balanced during the 3 first quarters.
After 4 minutes in the fourth quarter, Ehi Etute – the tournament’s leading scorer and rebounder – committed her fifth foul. Thereafter, without their leader, the lack of inside presence made it difficult for Team Luxembourg to stay in the game.
In offense, the team couldn’t find good solutions anymore (they only scored 6 points in the final quarter) and gave up easy points. Conversely, the team from Switzerland was able to get the momentum of the game and to use the mistakes committed by their opponent to their advantage.
As in the previous days, with more experience on this level and more serenity, it would have been possible to win the game.
Tomorrow, on the last gameday the team from Ireland awaits. Their aggressive and physical style could make for an uncomfortable and uneasy match. However, the girls will give their best and try to win this game.
