Our U18 boys have finished the European Championship (Division C) in second place. On Sunday evening, the team of head coach Thierry Kremer lost the Gold medal game against Azerbaijan 71:77.
The FLBB squad had a slow start into the game and trailed 9:18 after the first quarter. While the deficit kept growing in the second quarter, our national team fought back with a run to finish the first half which raised the hope of a comeback. However, Azerbaijan built an even bigger lead (54:38) in the third quarter before Luxembourg went on a big run to make a comeback. The FLBB selection came as close as 2 points but was not able to turn the game around completely.
Philippe Stoffel led the team in scoring with 19 points, Frederick Graewert added 15 for Luxembourg.
