Our U20 boys played 2 practice games against the Netherlands last weekend at the Coque in Kirchberg.
Luxembourg lost both games, the first on Saturday ended with a 66:108 defeat while the game on Sunday ended with a 72:94 loss.
Game stats:
Game 1:
Coaching staff (about game 1)
We lacked a lot of toughness, we had a lot of difficulties to defend the opponent in one-on-one situations.
The players were quickly tired after our week of training camp and we did not show enough mental strength to continue to fight over the course of the game and therefore we were not able to show our opponent that we were capable of fighting more than them.
Game 2:
Coaching staff (about game 2)
We completely changed our attitude compared to the first game. The players gave 100% as expected of them and unsurprisingly with all the efforts put in place collectively to make it more difficult for our opponent we were able to match them for three quarters of time. (58-56 in our favor at the end of the third quarter)
Unfortunately, we struggled to maintain the intensity in the last quarter because we were very tired with a short rotation. But we were happy to see the reaction of the team after the game the day before.
