Game day 8 in the women’s LBBL was played on Saturday-evening.
The women team T71 Dudelange had a historic performance on Saturday-night. The team of coach Jérôme Altman´n scored 131 points in their 131:74 win against Etzella. 4 players scored more than 23 points, the team hit 15 outside shots and shot 65 percent from the floor – an unstoppable offense by the unbeaten leader in the first league. The team had another outstanding statistic to start the game. Within the first 5 minutes of the game, all 5 starters scored a « 3-point-shot » (video).
Contern was able to beat Sparta 85:68 in Roksana Schmidt’s coaching debut for the team from Bertrange. Ana Petrova sparked Contern’s team with 22 points. It was Contern’s thrid win of the season (3:5) while Sparta’s record drops to 1:7.
Behind 24 points and 16 rebounds by Amanda Cahill, Résidence came up with a 71:62 win over Wiltz to improve their record to 5:3 while Wiltz has won 2 out of 8 games so far.
The Musel Pikes won the top game of the game day on the road against Gréngewald, the final score was 68:58 in favor of the guests. After trailing by 6 points at the break, the Musel Pikes took control of the game with a 22:10 third quarter. Gréngewald had to play the final quarter without their coach Hermann Paar, he received 2 technical fouls at the end of the third quarter. The greens tried to make a comeback but fell short as Charlie Bidinger continued her strong season with 22 points, Cathy Schmit added 17 points. In the standings, the Pikes improve to 7:1 and stay the main hunter of T71 while Gréngewald goes into the little break with a 5:3 record.
