Our women’s 5vs5 teams has won the silver medal at the games of the small States of Europe. On Saturday, the team of head coach Mariusz Dziurdzia lost the final against Montenegro, the final score was 61:74.
The flbb squad had a superb start into the game and led 20:16 after the first quarter. Luxembourg showed some amazing team plays and hit outside shots to take a 4-point lead. Montenegro turned the game around in the second quarter and Luxembourg trailed by 4 points at the break (37:41). In the third quarter, Ehi Etute showed her potential under the baskets and put the team on her back, Luxembourg regained the lead but the string opponent from Montenegro had an answer and led by 3 points heading into the final quarter. Montenegro started the fourth quarter with two made shots from deep and took a 9-point lead. Luxembourg tried to make a late comeback but could not close the gap and finally lost the final by 13 points – congratulations to Montenegro!
