Gréngewald clinches first spot / Etute leads T71 past Contern (videos)

After the national team break, the women’s Enovos League returns with game day 3 of the second round of the regular season.

Thursday:
Les Sangliers Wiltz – Basket Esch 76:81
– Basket Esch improves to 4:12 and reduces the deficit to Wiltz (5:13) to a single point
– Wiltz took an early lead but the guests fought back in the fourth quarter to finally win the game
– Tatsiana Likhtarovich hit a clutch 3-pointer with 16 seconds remaining (video) and led all scorers with 26 points

Friday:
Amicale Steinsel – Musel Pikes 88:79
– Amicale improves to 8:9 and stays in a good position to reach the semi finals, the Musel Pikes remain the bottom team in the league with a 2:15 record
– Amicale took an early lead but the guests fought back in the final quarter and the game was decided in the final minutes when Amicale went on a run to win the game
– Behind a balanced team effort, Isa Hämäläinen led Steinsel with a double double of 20 points and 10 rebounds

Saturday:
Gréngewald Hueschtert – Sparta Bertrange 87:86
– Gréngewald remains unbeaten and clinches the first place in the standings which gives the tea home court advantage for the semi finals and the finals (if they qualify), Sparta remains second in the standings with a 12:5 record
– Alexus Johnson led the Greens with 25 points and 16 rebounds but had to watch the last 6 minutes from the bench with 5 fouls
– Sparta had a chance to win the game on a late shot by Nicole Torresani but the shot did not go in (video)

AB Contern – T71 Dudelange 67:71
– Dudelange retakes the 4th place from Steinsel and improves to a 9:8 record, Conternis third with a 11:6 record
– Isi Etute scored 26 points and added 15 rebounds, she had 20 points in the first half on 9/9 shooting
