The Luxembourgish sports press union has announced the winners in the categories « athlete of the year », « team of the year » and « coach of the year » for the year 2024 in a ceremony on Wednesday evening in Mondorf.
The women’s basketball national team was able to earn the price of the « team of the year », a remarkable achievement! The ladies were able to to start the FIBA Eurobasket qualifiers with 2 victories early in the year and they added a victory in November as the team of coach Mariusz Dziurdzia, who finished second in the voting for coach of the year, is in the race to qualify for the European Championship 2025. Congratulations to the team and staff on this amazing honor.
Ehis Etute finished 5th in the women’s athlete of the year category under 14 nominated athletes.
