Zolwer earns a key win / Duo stays on top of the league

The 12th game day was played in the men’s National 2 this weekend.

AS Zolwer earned a key win on Saturday by beating the Kordall Steelers 86:81 on the road. Gilles Weis (19 points) and Vic Heuschling (18) showed their scoring abilities as Council led the team with 21 points. With this victory, Zolwer stays in contact with the better placed teams in the standings and improves its record to 6:6 while the Steelers drop to 8:4.

Co-leader Bascharage earned a hard fought win over Black Star, the final socre was 70:68 in favor of the team of coach Adam Radomirovic. The hosts had 4 players in double digits: Ndiaye (18), Kuhlmann (16), Tani (13) and Morton (12). Professional player Logins had to leave the game in the first half with a knee injury, he could miss 1-2 weeks but no severe damage was diagnosed in the MRI. Pit Hansen had a game-high 27 points for Mersch, a team that has only 1 win so far this season. Bascharage (10:2) stays on top of the league with Gréngewald Hueschtert.

Gréngewald clearly won in Mondorf on Sunday by 12 points (80:68). Mondorf lacked a third scoring option next to their professional duo that combined for 50 points. The greens were also led by their professional player Overwater (22) and Barned (20) but Schleimer (15) and Breuskin (12) had strong games as well as the team of coach Alex Pires stays on top of the standings with a 10:2 record. A special game is waiting for Mondorf next week as they host Arantia (LBBL) in the cup quarter finals.

BC Mess earned a 5th win this season by beating Mamer (1:11) 84:67. Coleman scored a game-high 38 points to lead the team from Monnerich while McDaniel scored 28 points for the guests. Some intensity was in this game as Maxime Sunnen was ejected (D2) after a conflict with Mamer’s Pit Diederich in the fourth quarter.
