The 2 best women teams from the second league will play against Wiltz and Sparta, the two teams that finished the LBBL regular season on places 9 and 10, in a promotion/relegation group. The points between the 4 teams will be set to 0 and there will a total of 6 games for each team. The best 2 teams will play in the women’s LBBL next season.
This weekend, the women team from Zolwer was able to qualify for this group after earning their 15th win in 17 games this season. The club will also play in the Cup FLBB final in the Coque in March (against Telstar).
However, the second team to fight for promotion in this group is not know yet. In fact, there will be a showdown on Tuesday-evening between Racing Luxembourg and Black Star Mersch. If Racing wins this game, they are qualified for the promotion group, Black Star needs a win as well to stay in the race, but they also have 2 more remaining games against Heffingen and Telstar. Black Star could qualify if they win this game by more than 9 points because the first game of the season between those 2 teams ended 50:41 in favor of Racing.
